‘09 KW: Day 4, Race 1, The Start

Just prior to the start, the race committee moving the course – fleet standing by under short postponement.. Breeze dropping off – now around 7.

Course 4, bearing 040…

Now in sequence…

The breeze looks left at the start, further up the course we can see the breeze is shifting again…

Breeze back up 10-11…and back off again. Rast, Simoneschi, at the pin. Massive left shift as the fleet gets a start, couple of general recalls.

Thank You Melges Performance Sailboats

A special thank you to Melges Performance Sailboats for a fantastic Melges Rocks party last night!!! For those of you that were not here to experience the fun, the Melges 24 fleet rocked Key West to the awesome sounds of Hello Dave, flown in especially from Chicago!!!

In the hands of Travis Weisleder, USMCA President and IM24CA Vice Chairman – Chris Rast accepted for Flavio Favini with Franco Rossini’s Blu Moon team the trophies for 2008 M24 World and European Ranking Champion… And, Andy Burdick and Harry Melges picked up the 2008 North American Ranking trophies on behalf of Brian Porter and his Full Throttle team.
